Original Oil Painting on Board
FS 12" X 14"
The Reticulated Giraffes coat consists of large, polygonal liver-colored spots outlined by a network of bright white lines. Despite their size, they are fast and are able to gallop up to 35 miles per hour. The extraordinary height of the Reticulated Giraffe allows them to browse on branches of trees that other hoofed animals cannot reach. This has helped make them one of the most successful animals of the African savanna. The reference for this painting was taken on my trip to Kenya.
